Has your search position changed in the last few days?  It may be due to changes Google made over the weekend.

Google has made a significant change to its search algorithm that affects many publishers.  If you have too many ads “above the fold” or ads that extend “below the fold”, Google is punishing those sites.

As many of you know, the first public hearing with the newly named head of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) was held on Thursday, January 19th in Alabama.  As reported by Lisa McGreevy, President of the Online Lenders Alliance (OLA), the event “went better than expected.”

There were of course some complaints about the online lending industry, but Ted Saunders, CEO of Community Choice Financial, Inc. and Ms. McGreevy both testified on behalf of the industry.  The CFPB asked the industry panel about marketing and advertising, roll-overs, cycle of debt, average numbers of loans per customer per year, as well as whether a single loan was profitable.
